The Federal Aviation Administration said Sunday, 1 November 2026, that a Learjet 60 carrying nine people crashed in a residential area near Greenacres in Palm Beach County, Florida, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said all nine on board were killed.

The aircraft, registered N722BD, departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was headed to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas, the FAA said. The crash occurred around 12:50 p.m. Eastern Time near Military Trail between Cresthaven Boulevard and 10th Avenue North, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said, prompting the closure of lanes in both directions.

Duffy described the crash as a horrific tragedy and said the FAA was sending a team to support the National Transportation Safety Board investigation, according to the Associated Press and the BBC. No official statement has contradicted the account that all nine people on the aircraft were killed.

Public statements from the FAA, the sheriff’s office, and Duffy do not identify those on board, do not state the cause of the crash, and do not confirm whether anyone on the ground was injured or killed.

The FAA said the NTSB will lead the investigation and provide updates.
